Conformal Radiotherapy with Micro-multileaf collimator

We integrate the linear accelerator with the micro-multileaf system that, with a sophisticated technology that sets into motion 4mm-thick plates, allows the physician to evenly distribute  (conform) the radiation dose on the tumour thus tailoring the treatment.

This methodology allows the physician to deliver a higher dose of radiations to the tumour while saving surrounding healthy tissues.

Conformal radiotherapy is mostly used to treat brain, prostate and lung tumours.

 Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)

Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT)  is currently the gold standard. It is an advanced mode of conformal radiotherapy.

V-MAT Therapy

V-MAT is an advanced mode of IMRT which allows the physician to regulate the radiation beam during the treatment thanks to the position and speed of the linear accelerator gantry.

V-MAT allows for the maximization of the radiation dose to the tumour while reducing the dose to healthy tissues. At Ars Medica we are able to perform all kind of radiation therapies with the most suitable technology and methodology, for the treatment of tumours affecting:
- Head and neck
- Nervous system
- Lung
- Breast
- Skeletal system
- Digestive system
- Genitourinary system
- Prostate
- Skin
- Soft tissue

 Stereotaxic Radiotherapy, Radiosurgery

In spite of its name, radiosurgery is a non-invasive technique which does not require hospitalization nor general anaesthesia.

Thanks to radiosurgery it is possible to deliver high doses of radiation in one single session or in a limited number of sessions, even to very small lesions. The radiation beam acts like a surgical scalpel, limiting the dose of radiations delivered to healthy tissues.

This technique is mostly used to treat small brain neoplasms.
