MRI is a diagnostic methodology that allows the physician to examine the inside of a patient’s body without using ionizing radiations. It is particularly useful to get detailed images of brain, spine and bone marrow as well as in oncology, orthopaedics, vascular surgery and gastroenterology.
MRI generally last between 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the area to be examined.
The MRI is a safe and non invasive methodology. Thanks to the lack of ionizing radiations it can be repeated after a short period of time. MRI equipment have been constantly developed and improved, and play a major role in the diagnosis of several diseases. When performing an MRI it is fundamental to use new and cutting-edge equipment.
